At this point, I couldn't really care less about Blu Ray or HD-DVD. I'd be more excited if Apple included Lightscribe or equivalent capability in their drives. Unlabeled discs are piled high on my desk.Get a Sharpie. :DJust got word there is a new New CD/DVD Specific Sharpie. Rumor on internet is that regular Sharpie ink leeches into DVDs and CDs destroying the data on them in a few years. Anyone can confirm or refute this rumor?
I just got my first Sharpie "CD/DVD Marker" today - new product that will not do the above damage.  :(

I agree that the new design is very bland. I think they know what they are doing. The car companies seem to believe that this type of design will sell the most cars in the U.S. The Hyundai Sonata is a slight break from this mold.
I don't think the new Jetta and Passat are ugly, but the style is most definitely boring.
The new Sonata takes a few cues from the Mercedes Benz CLS. Some might all it a bit fussy but it is at least not boring.

I was just about to post about this likely being a loss leader. They're generating buzz and traffic in their stores. Their losses on the iPad are designed to turn profit on other sales.
You are exactly correct. I would bet anything that TJ Maxx/Marshalls did in fact pay the $499 for each and are selling them at a reduced price. Because they did not announce where they will be, they intended/bet on the internet hype to drive customers into the stores to look to see if their local store(s) had them. And, about 75% of those customers will stay in the store and look around while they are there, and of those 75% of customers, 60% are likely to buy something. It is a marketing ploy. This type of thing has been done for ages by smaller chain stores. It's nothing new. Only reason it's getting attention is that it is an iPad, something people want - and that is exactly why they did it.

Might want to check the signature app in the store. I've had it for over a year, you can choose up to 6 signatures. Use to be called signature pro, but my app says just Signature.
FWIW.
If this (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/email-signature-pro/id317243351?mt=8) is what you are talking about, the current version is $5. Which would be fine, except the recent reviews are very poor.
It also looks (from the screencaps) like you run the app to pick one of a handful of signatures, when most of us just want to have one specific signature assigned each mailbox...
Regardless, thanks for the heads up.

I think he meant, that besides the standard edition, there will also be a model with iChat itegrated. BTW, iChat Mobile is an old name. I saw it on this board several months ago.

Mac Pros are profitable for Apple so are Pro Apps, they have no reason to drop them. I've worked on PPro CS5 and it's very good, but it also has issues.
I cut on FCP almost every day, all in HD and lots of formats and it still works very well and more importantly it's been reliable.
Avid is and has always been a very powerful tool, it's rock solid media management mean it's the no1 choice for movies and large TV shows, neither FCP or Premiere can compete with it on that level.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the new FCP offers.

Not that I'm aware of.
You can reproduce Xcode's settings table (Get Info > Build) using NSOutlineView, then implement the custom cells based on the property type. That would give you a nice OS X appearance that mimics Xcode. See this thread.

11...21...31...whatever the age ones mode of attire is not an invitation or deterrent to rape. I swear some of the characters are straight out of "The Handmaid's Tale".
Unfortunately, in many cases it is.
There are many despicable men out there I would gladly hit over the head with a baseball bat, but when a woman finds herself violated or raped after dressing up like a Las Vegas showgirl on a coffee break she shouldn't be surprised of being accused having instigated it in some way.

Maybe the reason they didn't bring it up was because they are working on a new feature (ie new maps or turn by turn gps built into the next iOS; they did mention it was to collect data for something like that), but now that the media has blown it out of proportion, they had to come out and address it. At least, that's what I'm assuming Apple's point of view was.
