I'd say a refresh of the Mac Mini and/or iMac might happen. Why would they call both of the existing models 'early 2006' (esp. the mini) in this page.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303315
Because that's when they were released.

Hmm...I think Belkin calls this 802.11n. This isn't new. Gimme a break. People are really scrounging around deep now.
Look Apple has been keeping secrets it wants to be secret very secret for over a year now. The rumor sites have been so off this year, except for the obvious, that they'd need a power plant to get them back to being on. I'm not buying any of it. I'll be sorely disapponted if all we get is a Disney movie store, a 80GB iPod, a 23" iMac, and an array of colorful nanos. Zzzzz. Put me to sleep.
The nano was the last buzzworthy product Apple has put out in a year (I'll spare you the MPB jokes). Apple is due with something cool; something to compete with PS3 dollars this Xmas.
Are you insinuating that Apple should put out a gaming system to compete for PS3 dollars, or just the holiday dollars in general and right now the PS3 is the "Hot Ticket" this coming Holiday season?
Just wondering.....

I didn't even know there was an Expo on!
Anyway, before anyone even considers their opinion on the work of Greenpeace, they should read The Skeptical Environmentalist by Bjorn Lomborg (http://www.lomborg.com/).

Ah, but Apple won't let us sell it in our own store!
I guess you could say "There's a droid for that", but following my analogy it would be just like a swap meet with a big seller taking up the central aisles.
But that doesn't mean that now you can reach everyone. The Android swap meet excludes BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian, WinMo and Apple customers. You end up with a smaller customer base, with such a diverse set of user needs that you end up pulling your hair out trying to meet every Android phone manufacturer's device specs.

I bought probably the very last PPC iMac at the end of 2006 (or was the end of 2005?). It died on Wednesday. I can still get to the HHD via Target mode so I think I should be able to move everything over as soon as I get one of the new ones. COME ON TUESDAY! Any ideas when they may ship?

Apparently, this is related to AT&T only and it is not based on GPS location services but rather a database of cell towers. It contains no identifiable information and is sent to AT&T for analysis for signal strength statistics.
Since it does not contain personal information and is being used to analyze the state of the AT&T network, I don't see a problem here. People who are not inside of the US are not affected by this.
So why does it track the cell tower in the UK as well then? Click 2. Video (http://petewarden.github.com/iPhoneTracker/)

back here in the UK Hoover were able to trade mark Hoover as their name despite the fact that hoover is the generic term for a vacuum cleaner!
Well, we ask for a "Kleenex", not a tissue.
We drink a "Coke", not a soda.
We use a "Band-Aid", not an adhesive bandage.
We like to "Roller Blade", not inline skate.
Although we don't "Hoover" here in the United States, I think "Hoover" falls into the "Coke, Kleenex, Band-aid, etc." catagory in England.

With the decent graphics and these C2D's they make the iMac a formiddable machine. Alot of PowerMac's are going to be replaced by these new iMac's i feel. Probably Apple's most impressive, solid and reliable machine at the moment
No one who needs powerful graphics could go for anything except maybe the 24". The x1600 is pretty low-end for a mid-range desktop by now, and the nvidea 7600 is not bad but certainly not a powerhouse. And why would you say that the imacs are more "impressive, solid, and reliable" than the mac pros? Better values, maybe, but more impressive, solid, and reliable?

Let's ask yourself this.. they are saying that approx 1 in every 17 people now have a Windows based phone?? Do you know ANYONE that does?? Cause I know hundreds of people who have smartphones and not one of them has a Windows based phone.. major statistical failure!
They must be counting the old Windows Mobile 6.x devices too - a very shaky thing to count as definite wins for WP7 in the future. A lot of those old WP6 devices are corporate, and we all know that corporate phones are moving towards the iPhone or BlackBerry.

AllTel is IS95 ("CDMA") not GSM.
The only two national operators of GSM networks in the US are T-Mobile and Cingular, though there are a small handful of regional networks dotted around the country.
Not in all areas. In northern Wisconsin I got roaming signal on my GSM phone, and AllTel is the only carrier in the area.
Actually we're both right (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alltel). Alltel does not offer GSM service to it's customers, but owns and maintains a large GSM network they aquired from another carrier.

I am, however, starting to see why they allowed a sneak preview of iTV. Look how many of us are saying "I can't wait for iTV!" now that we've had some time to experiment with iTunes movie downloads!
I don't quite agree. I think that the preview was mostly to deter comments such as, "Why the hell would you want to pay full price for and download a full length movie that you can only watch on your computer screen or iPod."
Apple is finally using the iTS for your household, not just your iPod/computer.
Welcome to my living room, Apple. Pull up a chair.

This is torture for me too. My oldest daughter's birthday is the 7th and she's already expecting a notebook. I'm still trying to hold off ordering at least 1 of 2 MacBooks until Tuesday.
I can order a refurb 2.0 with no problem or blindly order a new 2.0 MacBook at education price hoping it will ship with any updates.
The problem is timing. If the MacBooks do not update, I end up with a new stripped MacBook 2.0. If I cave and go for the refurb, it gets here faster and it may include a bit of refurb candy. How old is your daughter about to be? Will she understand waiting for the Merom MacBook? It's gonna be the same speed but it will have twice the L2 cache (4MB) which should make a performance difference. It will also have aabout 30% longer battery life, according to preliminary tests at PC Perspectives (http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=288&type=expert&pid=1), and run cooler. If you can talk her into it, I would wait however long it takes for the Merom MacBook which I think will be before Thanksgiving worst case.
I doubt it will happen in September if that's what you're hoping for. Not enough supply. MBP & iMac get 'em first.

I just posted earlier today about how I was waiting for the Apple iPhone to upgrade my RAZR... but honestly thats it?
I feel like the only one who looks at that design and says "blah". Its a horrible design for a phone. Its a nano with a bigger screen. Thats it. There are 1000 phones out there now that look just like this.
I can't believe this is what we've been waiting for years and god knows how much in R&D for?
I'm a much bigger fan of the iChat Mobile. (I know its fake but its a much better idea than this. Granted it needs some work too...)

Any chance we'll see an Apple widescreen H.264/AAC camcorder there?
It's an interesting idea, but I think this one is in next year territory, when it can be combined with iTV for wireless video streaming to you Mac or your TV.
And how about an iPod dock connector/cable to use an iPod for storage to keep the costs down (and sell more iPods)?
A definite possibility, since one of the things Apple is purportedly demoing at the show is a data archiving system.

ah yes. just like they did with the eMac back in the day. that was popular... you know, not having a product to ship for weeks.
Well, assuming they announced and shipped about the same time as the PC companies, there's really not that much to complain about. Don't forget, they did it with the MPB as well.
And if people are really unwilling to wait a couple weeks, nothing is stopping them from buying the yonah models.

Back to the issue of PDA hardware options, does anyone have a clue whether it makes ANY sense to invest in Palm OS based PDA devices (like the Palm TX)? Is the Palm OS going to disappear? I'm holding out on a new PDA for fear that something directly from Apple will hit the market soon. I hate the thought of buying a Pocket PC device, and I would LOVE it if the next gen. video iPod had a boatload of PDA type features- which only makes sense given the rumored larger screen size.
