Hi All,
If we can get one thing fixed, it should be about adding another step before 485, i.e. people should be able to apply for 485 without the priority date getting current/get EAD so we can move to different companies. At-least it clears lot of head-aches for me. I know that I am dreaming, but hey... that's all I got.

You are right about to apply for 485 without the PD current. This will help all the people who are bound to their employers and have no option. The law makers are trying to find fraud in employment but they are not finding ways to unshackle the employee from employer.

Your wife can work as along the date on EAD is valid, EAD is employee authorization, it not a visa status unlike H4. She can have a EAD and be on H4 at the same time. It does not matter if you filed an extension for H4 but she can work if the EAD is valid ie end date on EAD has not passed.
This is just my thought based on my experience, remember I am not an attorney, consult one if you need dependable answer.

The least people could do is put in their country of chargeability, and PD. It is just silly to see country of chargeability as US! Lets get serious people!

Is it true even for principal applicant? If 140 is denied, isn't your EAD invalidated? In other words, if 140 (immigration petition) is denied, there is nothing to adjust your status on and so even 485 becomes invalid.

Her EAD is tied to her 485 not to your 140. As long as the 485 status is pending, her EAD is valid. Even if the 485 is rejected, if it is something that can be fixed thru an MTR, then filing an MTR and changing the status back to pending is still fine. It is not necessary to stop using the EAD for that brief period.

Thanks guys for all your replies & suggestions. Just to let you know, that I am paying for my whole GC process and I have been with this company since last 3 years. I have already completed one 2 year contract term with them and still they are asking me to sign new contract. To me, this is total blackmailing.

must also remind you since 9/11 and this happened to me in Cali shooting ranges also do not let "non citizens" use their services. so even if you bought a gun not a lot of places for you to practice on how to use it just my 2 coppers for you mate.

I would suggest a hand gun. A .22 caliber is more than effective if it is a deterrent that you are seeking. The .22 does not have much range, but it is very small and has no recoil.
A 9mm like a Glock is a little advanced but will need practice to use as it has quite some recoil. A .44 desert eagle or Magnum is going over board. You can go to a gun show near you so you can see and feel and learn all about guns before you go to a gun store.
Please follow all legal rules when buying/owning and carrying a weapon. Please get trained well at a local shooting range. You can find information about a shooting range near you and about safety training at NRA (http://www.nra.org).
A study shows that in the event of a confrontation with gangs etc it is more likely that you will be injured or die if you pull a gun as opposed to not pulling one.
So do your home work and make an educated decission. Make sure you buy a safe for keeping the gun in your house especially if you have kids.Never keep the gun and the rounds together. If you are going to pack, make sure you go to your local police and let them instruct on how to carry a concealed fire arm. You will have to carry an empty gun in the glove with the rounds in the trunk for example.
Finally my post is in no way advising you to buy a gun or use it. A disclaimer to cover my rear end. If you have any specific questions about gun models I can advice you if I know. I am a member of the NRA and has been using guns in sporting events for many years.

Everything that you want to do can be achieved without touching DirectX or OpenGL (and hence SDL), and using them will only confuse you if you're looking to learn to write Windows code.
I'd recommend attempting your problem using nothing but Win32 and the core C++ functionality - IMHO, you should avoid muddying the waters with other APIs.
Just my $0.02.

They took my card and put into a drawer containing old returned card.
I have seen an american women infront of me apply for a new card after her name change(after marrige). They took her old card and put into the drawer.
You can apply for a new card without the old card if you inform the card is lost.
You can replace your Social Security card if it is lost or stolen. You are limited to three replacement cards in a year and 10 during your lifetime.
Name change, taking out the restrictions will not count towards the replacement limit.
